The architects Alexandre Skaff & Simone Carneiro made the partnership of almost 10 years official in 2005, with the creation of SAO Arquitetura.

The name SAO arose from the desire to pay homage to São Paulo and to assume the city’s influence on its education and work.

Experiencing São Paulo with its metropolitan scale, its segmented growth processes, its urban chaos and its accumulation of information is an exercise for the architect as a citizen, critic and creator.

Regardless of scale, SAO Arquitetura believes in experimenting with space. The architect needs to know how to translate the sensations that the built elements have and what is their relationship with the surroundings.

Functioning as a space for collaboration and exchange of ideas, the office seeks to produce formally simple, contextualized and current architectural solutions.
